Pecky cypress varies greatly in amount of "peck" from board to board, some boards will have heavy peck and some light to no peck. Pecky cypress is sold as is, boards may have holes and splits, this is the nature of pecky cypress as it is caused by a fungus which creates these hollows and holes. Through the kiln drying process all fungus growth is stopped leaving the wood stable where no more growth can occur. 

We recommend, to achieve certain looks for projects and to allow for splits and waste an excess of 50-70% extra material when you order for your project.
